1 Centimeter Dilated 39 Weeks. I went to a midwife so she never did internal checks because they really dont show anything. She hooked me up to the monitors and there were no contractions in sight even though I was so sure I was getting contractions the night before. 36 weeks pregnant 1 cm dilated 50 effaced. Board-certified doctor now wait time is less than 1 minute.
The time between dilating to 1 cm and giving birth varies from woman to woman. When labor first starts a woman may dilate up to 4 cm before entering the active stage.
