18 Month Old Not Talking. They are usually able to say up to 20 words by the time they are 18 months old. I have struggled with my Two year old Son not talking. She is VERY smart. Has trouble understanding simple verbal requests.
Some kids will start talking just fine when they are two or older however. I have struggled with my Two year old Son not talking. At the age of 18 months if your child is not talking you dont need to be overly concerned. Is it OK if my baby is 18 months and not talking. Rest assured that learning to talk a little later than other children shouldnt affect how your child develops later on. This is because in typically developing children many children are saying over 200 words already.
Isnt using gestures such as pointing or waving bye-bye.
Of course it is a worrying thing but you do need to give your child a chance to naturally develop at their own pace. He doesnt talk solid words but babbles on and off. He is an only child so I have no previous experience and my health visiter says he should be speaking by now. My son will be 21 months in a couple days and he is not talking at all. If by 18 months your child is not talking at all it is a good idea to get a speech evaluation. We had him eating meatballs and chicken nuggets with ketchup the only way to get him to eat but now he hardly wants anything to do with it.
