3 Year Old Not Potty Trained. So I Googled how to potty train a 3 year old lol and this popped up. Your 1 2 or 3-year-old child does not need to be potty trained before a certain date. Well Im not sure about the massive blocking but I do think that a three year old who knows perfectly well how to use the potty and is making a conscious decision not to requires more than just warm fuzzies to make it happen. If you toddler is not potty trained at 3 you may have a battle on your hands on the childs part and it is not a matter of training issues.

Technically potty training is considered delayed when your child is older than three years old or is not making progress after 4 months of consistent potty training. Every child gets potty-trained at a different age which can even differ from their siblings. If not she will not be toting a backpack full of pull-ups to the 8 th grade.
